State polling: what you need to know about the polls on the Gold Coast

WITH who to vote for on everyone’s lips, here’s the who, what and when of you need to know about the upcoming poll.

THE Labor Party has just a week left to endorse candidates for six seats on the Gold Coast before nominations close at midday on November 7.

THREE KEY POLL SEATS ON GOLD COAST

The LNP have had candidates endorsed in all eleven electorates for months, with some paying for advertising space well before Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk called the election on Sunday.

One Nation will also have some work to do with just four candidates nominated across the Gold Coast.

The short election period means the nominations will close just two and a half hours before the order of the ballot paper is drawn.

It is also less than a fortnight before pre-polling begins with the first booths opening on November 13.

CIOBO UNIMPRESSED WITH LABOR COP COMMITMENT

Before voters head to the polls, they have just a few days to enrol to vote.

The electoral roll will close on November 3.

Postal voting applications have opened and will close on November 22.

Polling day is on November 25 and postal ballots need to be returned by December 5.
