HOONS have heavily damaged one of the Gold Coast's most popular parks just days after it was reopened following a $250,000 upgrade.
Varsity Lakes’ Central Park was targeted by a hoon who drove a white vehicle onto its new turf at 4am this morning and tore up much of the grass.

The same driver returned at 6am and continued his rampage before fleeing the scene after being confronted by members of the public.
The entire incident was captured on CCTV which the Gold Coast City Council has provided to police, who are investigating the incident.
Central Park reopened just last week after being closed to the public for more than four months for a long-awaited revamp.
