Gold Coast development: Chevron Island’s Allure tower approved by Gold Coast City Council

A huge Chevron Island development with almost 100 units has been ticked off with council. And the developers say they won’t waste any time getting shovels into the ground.

CHEVRON Island’s second tower will rise out of the ground by Christmas.

The 16-level luxury mid-rise Allure has been ticked off by the Gold Coast City Council and its developer says it’s not waiting long to put the shovel into the ground.

Sydney based developer Macquarie York will go to market on the project this month after strong interest from prospective buyers.

Development manager Roy Skaf said the tower has been designed to complement the Chevron Island skyline and become a “distinct landmark” within the precinct.

“Allure offers breathtaking views from every aspect, striking architecture and sophisticated interior design,” he said.

“The rooftop will offer panoramic views of the city from north to south, and feature a residents lounge, barbecue and dining area, infinity pool and several viewing decks.

“The communal areas feature dense subtropical landscaping, bringing a sense of resort-style living and a true community atmosphere.”

It will featured 89 units of between two, three and four bedrooms which will be sold for around $495,000.

Mr Skaf said the tower had been designed to fit in with the area’s village atmosphere rather than stand out.

“Allure will become a complementary and respectful addition to the burgeoning suburb, in keeping with the Island’s unique character,” he said.

Chevron Island has become a hub of development in recent months.

In November, work began on the new $19.5 million green bridge which will provide pedestrian access between the Island and Evandale’s Home of the Arts.

Construction is set to begin shortly on Bensons Property Group’s Chevron One tower which is earmarked for a site on Stanhill Drive.

More than eight towers have been proposed for Chevron Island over the past decade but none have yet been built.

Community concern centred around the impact on traffic thousands of new residents would have on the pocket suburb as well as how they would change the area’s amenity.
