An alleged offender is on the run after a man arrived at the Alice Springs Hospital with multiple stab wounds. Read the latest.

Northern Territory Police are calling for information after a man arrived at Alice Springs Hospital with multiple stab wounds.

At 5am police were notified a 30-year-old man presented to the emergency department with stab wounds to his leg and body.

The victim alleged he had been travelling in a car with another male and a female earlier in the night.

About 3.30am, a fight allegedly occurred between the 30 year old and the male occupant of the car, which subsequently pulled over on Bradshaw Dr, Gillen.

When the two exited the car, the victim was allegedly stabbed multiple times by the male offender with an unknown edged weapon.

All three involved are believed to be known to each other.

The male alleged offender and the female fled the scene, and the victim attended hospital to receive treatment.

Police later found the car involved and a crime scene was declared.

The alleged offender remains on the run.

Members from the Alice Springs Criminal Investigations Branch are investigating and police are urging anyone with information, including dashcam or CCTV footage, to contact 131 444 and quote reference NTP2400080758.

Man arrested after alleged high range drink driving incident

August 17: NT Police have charged a 45-year-old after he was caught allegedly high range drink driving during a random breath test.

Members of the Road Policing Division in Tennant Creek stopped a Holden sedan on Ambrose St for the test about 9.45am Thursday.

It was then he returned a positive result and was arrested for further analysis.

The breath analysis returned a reading 0.172 BrAC.

He has been charged with driving at a high range and driving unlicensed.

Southern Road Policing Sergeant Conan Robertson said NT Police were committed to having more officers on the roads.

“I ask that the community works with us, talk with friends and family about the risks,” he said.

“And understand that there are often serious or fatal consequences when things go wrong on our roads.

“If road users choose to engage in bad practices you will be arrested, charged and brought before the courts.

“Please make safe decisions.”

Man allegedly throws rocks at cop car, kicks officer in knee

August 15: Northern Territory Police have charged a 40-year-old man who allegedly threw rocks at a cop car before kicking an officer during his arrest.

At 12.40am Thursday, two police officers were driving in a marked police car south along the Stuart Highway in Alice Springs.

As they drove past a service station the alleged offender, who was standing on the side of the road, allegedly threw rocks at the car, causing minor damage.

The man was arrested and taken to the Alice Springs watch house.

During processing he allegedly kicked one of the police officers in the knee.

The officer did not require medical treatment.

The 40-year-old was charged with endangering the occupants of a vehicle, damage to property and assaulting police.

“Throwing any object at a moving vehicle is incredibly dangerous and can result in serious injuries,” Senior Sergeant Daniel Bell said.

“Attacks on our members will not be tolerated and this (alleged) offender will face charges for his actions.”

Three teens arrested after alleged car, alcohol thefts in Alice Springs

August 14: The Northern Territory Police have arrested three youth after two separate robberies in the Alice Springs area.

Police responded after three youths allegedly attempted to unlawfully enter a residence on Clarke St in Araluen about 2.30am Tuesday.

The people allegedly discarded alcohol they had stolen from the home and fled the scene as the authorities arrived.

Two youths, aged 13 and 17, were caught and arrested after a short foot chase, with the remaining person still on the loose.

The 17-year-old was expected to be charged following the arrest, while the 13-year-old was taken home into the care of a responsible adult.

Police received reports a business on Elders St was allegedly broken into about 4.30am Tuesday.

Up to four youths allegedly rammed the front gate and gained entry into the premises before stealing sets of car keys and two vehicles.

Members from Strike Force Viper, the Dog Operations Unit and general duties officers responded and quickly recovered one of the stolen vehicles on Montgomery Road.

The Dog Operations Unit tracked the alleged offender, a 14-year-old, and arrested him near the scene.

The second vehicle and offenders were still missing at the time.

The 14-year-old was expected to be charged with a number of offences in relation to the incident.

Police are continuing to investigate and urge anyone who witnesses a crime or anti-social behaviour to contact 131 444, or in an emergency dial triple-0.

Police search for stolen car spotted leaving Alice Springs

Police are searching for a stolen car that was last seen heading north out of Alice Springs.

Southern Watch Commander Jared Thompson said the white Toyota LandCruiser was reported stolen from a Braitling business about 11pm Sunday.

Sergeant Thompson said the car’s registration number was CE18BM.

He said the vehicle was last seen heading north on the Stuart Hwy away from Alice Springs between 2am and 3am.

Anyone with information relating to the incident should contact police on 131 444.
