Why woman stands by man in jail five times

A UK woman has revealed that she is completely devoted to her boyfriend, despite the fact that he has been in prison five times since they met.

Valery met her partner Mo when the pair were in secondary school together, and they started dating when she was 19.

Just six months into their relationship, Mo ended up in prison, but Valery decided to stick by him throughout his sentence.

In the seven years that the couple have been together, Mo has been jailed five times, and Valery has stuck by her man every time.

“I can’t just abandon him, so I’m always there for him,” she told Love Don’t Judge.

The last time that Mo got out of prison, the couple decided to honour their love by getting matching tattoos.

And not ones for subtlety, the duo got enormous “King” and “Queen” inkings across their necks.

“I’m a queen and he’s my king,” explained Valery, who lives in London.

After Valery posted snaps of the tattoos online, she was hit with backlash from trolls, who called her delusional, but she hasn’t let the cruel comments get to her.

“I’ve learned not to pay attention to what they say, I just don’t care,” she said.

When Valery first revealed her relationship to her family, they told her to leave him, as “he’s a criminal who’s not good for you”.

She said that her loved ones have tried to convince her to find someone else. but insisted she doesn’t care, as she loves Mo.

In December 2022, Mo came out of prison, and Valery said that if he went back inside again, she would leave him.

However, he then got sent back to prison while she was three months pregnant, so she decided to give him another chance.

Valery was left to go through her whole pregnancy and labour alone, and struggles with being a single parent.

She added that she doesn’t think Mo would wait for her if the situation was reversed.

“I feel like men are different to girls,” she said.

Mo is currently waiting to be sentenced to between six and 12 years in prison, and the couple maintain their relationship through letters and phone calls.

“I feel happy and excited when I receive a letter from him,” she said.

When Valery goes to visit Mo in prison, she brings her daughter, so that she can get to know who her dad is.

She added that she will still stay with him even if he gets a 12-year sentence, as he is the father of her child.

“He can be a gentleman, he’s a good person, he’s a listener, he’s just everything.”
