In news that will surprise no Bluey fan anywhere in the world, the creators of our favourite animation have confirmed that a fourth series of the iconic Aussie TV show is likely to come.

In a recent interview with The Courier Mail, Bluey's executive producer, Daley Pearson, confirmed the exciting news that new episodes are on their way. But the agreement to keep on going with new episodes came with a very strict condition.

"We have all agreed we wouldn't keep making it if wasn't as good as the one that came before, so we want to make sure we keep doing that," Daley told the publication.

"There will definitely be more Bluey. The amount of families who have taken Bluey in is a privilege that we don't, and have never, taken that lightly."

Australia's biggest little show

The Aussie animation has taken off around the globe, with American children now adopting the Aussie accent and their parents confused as hell with our slang.

The global popularity is a move no one saw coming - even though the creative team working on it knew Bluey was something special.

The third season alone attracted an impressive 11 million viewers.

"I'm very proud of it, it's wild to have made something, or been part of something that's so loved and is now part of the Zeitgeist of the world," the EP says.

Why everyone loves Bluey

Bluey composer Joff Bosh claims it's the catchy theme song that is a good part of the reason why it's so popular.

"It's a pretty weird song, which is a real testament to the producers for giving it the thumbs up," he says.

In July last year, fans couldn't believe a detail in the opening track that they didn't realise before - that Bandit, Chilli, Bluey and Bingo are playing musical statues.

Aussie mum Amelia, who's located on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria,  shared a video of the detail in the show's opening that has made her wonder if she's "the only one who only just figured this out."

And she wasn't alone.

While the new episodes haven't begun production yet, the cast and crew are very much looking forward to getting on with it.

And we can't wait too!
