IT has 38 venues in America, three in the UK and now the eagerly awaited Topgolf is finally ready to tee off in Australia.
The Gold Coast venue will hold its opening gala tonight, before letting in the public tomorrow to enjoy games, food and music.
There has already been a huge amount of interest shown in Topgolf, according to CEO Kirk Edwards, with the Oxenford venue’s corporate events calendar sold out for the first month.
Mr Edwards said the excitment was testament to the hard work which had gone into creating the attraction.
GOLDEN AGE: WHY NEW ATTRACTIONS ARE CRITICAL FOR COAST
“I think the standard of conditions are equivalent to a four or five star hotel, I think the team that we’ve been able to assemble here is probably a world first in terms of the culture and everything we’ve been able to build on the Gold Coast,” he said.
“We’ve had 1200 corporate inquiries for events, and on the opening day we expect somewhere in the region of 2000 to 3000.”
For those who might be less than thrilled at the thought of spending an afternoon playing golf, Topgolf says it’s not your average driving range.
Jordan Bardsley, 24, stopped in with his brother Tyson, 18, to play a few rounds during the venue’s soft open.
Though Mr Bardsley works in maintenance at Topgolf, it was his first time visiting as a guest, which he said was a completely different experience.

“It’s got something for all ages, and different types of people.”
