THEY are the new rich man’s toy where luxury boats and cars can be stored, or even worked on.
But you will need on average $280,000.
Zac Potter, a 25-year-old Gold Coast developer from The Potter Group, built 14 up-market “man caves” and “she sheds” at a swanky Avalon Parade building in Miami.
The warehouses are twice the size of a regular double garage and have polished concrete floors, steel-carpeted mezzanine floor, a bathroom, kitchenette and even a car hoist.

“There are a lot of new apartments going up that people are paying upwards of a million dollars to live near the beach,” he said.

“Those types of people like to have cars and boats, but they don’t always have somewhere to store them.

“(They) can probably afford an extra few thousand and have somewhere to do some work and store cars, a boat or caravan.
“All their toys are around the corner from (their) house and they can meet like-minded professionals. It’s that kind of concept.”

Mr Potter sold all 14 units for a total of $3.885 million, plus GST.
Luxury fashion designer Lisa Brown bought her own “she shed” and will use it for her growing business.
“I’ll predominately be using mine for storage and using the mezzanine floor as our head office,” she said.
“My current office is in Mermaid Beach above the store, but I’m paying the landlord rent there. I’ve bought it myself so I’ll be owning (the warehouse). The shop will be staying there in Mermaid.
Mr Potter’s next project will be in Byron Bay where he plans to build similar warehouses.
