‘My five-year-old daughter helped me catch my husband cheating’

“Gut instinct will always be a power of a woman,” a mum captioned a viral video on TikTok.

Unfortunately her gut instinct told her her husband was having an affair.

The mum-of-one said she felt things were off with her husband.

“I’ve had so many messages to find out how I knew he was having an affair and the real reason was gut instinct.

“I just knew.”

Even after her husband left, he doubled down on his lie, saying there was no one else and that he was simply over his relationship with his wife.

But she didn’t get proof until her five-year-old daughter put her pint-sized detective skills to work.

“One of the nights he was working away, I knew the hotel he was staying at.

“When my little girl spoke to him the next morning – she’s five – she said ‘What room did you stay in?’ He gave her the room number.”

The room number was the clue the mum needed to find out the truth.

“I phoned the hotel and asked if that room had checked out and she said, ‘Yeah, they’ve just checked out’.

“I said ‘They’? and she said, ‘Yeah’.

“I said, ‘Was it male and female?’ and she said ‘Yeah’.

“She couldn’t tell me who it was because of data protection but she said, ‘Can I ask who’s calling?’, I said, ‘It’s his wife’.

“She said, ‘I can’t tell you, but what I will tell you is, I’m really sorry’.”

The mum was heartbroken, and wanted to know the extent of the affair. Was it a once-off fling, or something more serious.

“He came round to see my little girl, he was staying for tea,” she explained.

“I asked if I could use his phone and said mine wasn’t working properly. Got his phone, started recording, went on his WhatsApp, on an archive message, it was her saying ‘I love you’.

“There were messages and messages of them telling them they loved each other and they were one step closer to the end goal.

"The end goal was getting me out of the picture, him leaving me. How lovely.

“After eight years. So yeah, that's how I found out, which is just so sad.

"Honestly I still can’t believe it. It’s the saddest thing ever.”
