The person next to me on a flight accused me of cheating on my partner

"She was reading my texts over my shoulder," the man explained. But the truth was much different to what it seemed...

"This video is for my wife," a man began a video on TikTok.

Safe to say that more than just his wife has seen it now, with the clip racking up over eight million views. 

In it, he addresses cheating allegations thrown at him from none other than a woman sitting next to him on a flight.

Yep, the passenger had a little peek over his shoulder while he was texting on his phone, jumped to conclusions and then tried to shame him for his "unfaithful" behaviour.

Turns out, the whole thing was a huge misunderstanding and his explanation makes so much sense - and is SO wholesome too.

"She told me I should be ashamed of myself"

The man who goes by @berryd_treasure, explained (to his wife) in the clip: "When I boarded my flight, I sat in my seat and a lady sat next to me.

"I sent you a text that said, 'I'm on the plane, I love you' and then I went right from texting you to texting another girl and said, 'Hey, I'm on my plane, I love you', to which the lady next to me said I should be ashamed of myself for telling my wife, who is stored as 'Beautiful' in my phone that I love her and then texting another girl in my phone and said basically the same thing. 

"I had my TikTok up before that and she said she saw my TikTok handle and she's going to put it out there. So I just wanted to tell you before she does."

He then says, "So if you could go down to the end of the hall and tell our daughter that I will no longer be texting her from the plane that I love her because I can only love one girl at a time, that would be great.

"And to the lady sitting next to me on the plane - you should probably learn to mind your own business. And I hope you see this. Have a nice day."

"Who looks that close at what is on a stranger's phone?"

People were outraged at the woman in the comments, with one person saying, "It has NEVER crossed my mind to read random strangers' texts."

Another person said: "I've accidentally glanced over and saw a stranger's text on a plane... but to SAY SOMETHING!?! like... WHAT."

And a third asked: "Who looks that close at what is on a stranger's phone?

Others took it upon themselves to give the man some words of advice. "This is why you have a privacy screen protector," one person said. 

Another echoed: "Two words, privacy screen."
