AUTHORITIES fear nearly 100 animals could be ‘missing’ from Storybook Farm as investigations into the rescue group continue.

RSPCA Queensland seized more than three dozen animals in last week’s shocking raid, which uncovered horrific conditions.

RSPCA Queensland Chief Inspector Daniel Young said the organisation been “inundated” with calls from pet owners but are still appealing for more information.

“We have accounted for 37 animals but we are still working on finding out what happened to the rest of them,” he said.

“The calls we have received indicate there could be nearly 100 animals who were sent there but cannot currently be located.

“This is a particularly complex situation with a lot of information still coming in. We want to make sure we have all the facts.”

The operator of Storybook Farm will be able to speak with RSPCA inspectors in the coming weeks. Storybook Farm has not returned The Bulletin’s messages for comment about the case.

No charges have yet been laid in relation to the raid.

Veterinary Specialist Services in Jindalee has taken on many of the animals alongside the RSPCA Vet Services team.

They have already performed full neurological examinations and CT scans on 12 of the pets discovered in the raid.

RSPCA Prosecutions Officer Tracey Jackson urged people to not take on any guilt for sending their animals to Storybook.

“It’s just wonderful to see these dogs being assessed and now we are beginning to see a light at the end of the tunnel,” she said.

“We’re looking forward to trying to reunite some animals with their owners and find loving new homes for others.”

People who sent their animals to Storybook or donated money should contact the police or Office of Fair Trading if they have any information which may be of interest to investigators.
