Devastated owner, Keelie Hartigan of Reel Management, said she had been left traumatised by the incident which happened on Rio Vista Boulevard in Broadbeach Waters on Tuesday.
Ms Hartigan said she had been walking Ollie along one of their regular routes when she spotted kids riding their bikes.
She said a black staffy was trailing behind them and she stepped aside the let them pass.
But that was when the staffy grabbed Ollie and “shook him like a ragdoll.”
Ms Hartigan said Ollie ran around her legs trying to escape, but the dog continued to bite him.
Ms Hartigan fell over during the scuffle and suffered minor injuries.
A good Samaritan, Luke Shrewsbury, intervened and helped rush Ollie to the closest vet.
Ollie underwent surgery for four hours to close the gaping wounds and had to use a catheter to urinate.
Later, Ms Hartigan spoke with the owner.

“He said the dog was great with people and kids, but not small dogs,” she said.
“He just showed no remorse … but he was very quick to let me know he had no intentions of helping me financially.”
Ms Hartigan will now need to fork out more than $4000 on vet bills — and the owner of the alleged savage dog refused to pay.
Ms Hartigan’s friends set up a Go Fund Me account to help cover the mounting vet bills. In less than 24 hours, $340 has been raised.
Bursting into tears, the small business owner said she kept reliving the moment Ollie was attacked.
“He's ‘only’ a dog, but I’ve had him since my father passed away,” she said.
“It’s been pretty traumatising watching it all happen … I keep reliving (the dog) chomping into my dog.”
Ms Hartigan said she had lodged a formal complaint with council, and while she did not want to see the dog destroyed, she did want to ensure the dog was properly contained and educated.
Gold Coast City Council have been contacted for comment.
It comes just weeks after a French Bulldog was baited with razor blades and a number of recent dog attacks, which have increased by 16 per cent in the past year on the Coast.
