Chicken roams Gold Coast shopping centre and lays an egg in the car park

A free-ranging chicken has been spotted wandering around for hours in a busy Gold Coast shopping centre’s car park — even leaving an unexpected gift for one lucky shopper. SEE THE VIDEO

A chicken has been spotted on the loose and free-ranging at a busy Gold Coast carpark.

The lone, brown-coloured hen was found wandering around outside the front of Coles, in front of cafes and in the Coomera City Shopping Centre’s carpark for about three hours.

One person posted onto social media that the chicken had laid an egg next to her car.

“There is a chicken in Coomera city (coles) (sic) carpark & it just laid an egg next to my car!! I kid you not!” the post read.

Another person said they believed the chicken may have come from a property at Forest Oak Drive, about five minutes away from the shopping centre.
