'She’s using the baby as a shield': Mum's disturbing outburst at sporting match

A video of a mum's bizarre meltdown while holding her child at a high-school sports match has racked up over nine million views and counting... but what exactly is going on?

It was supposed to be a regular, end-of-season lacrosse showdown between two nearby high schools, but for one mum, the game brought on an unprecedented amount of passion.

Captured in a now-deleted TikTok, the young mother, baby in arms, is seen yelling at people around her as the game finishes and scuffles break out between the rival players on the field.

Her outburst, peppered with swear words, was not only shocking because she was holding her child but also confusing for onlookers who didn’t know why she was having a meltdown.

"How can you hold your baby and say that"

“You're a dirty little b**ch. I see it in your face,” she shouted, teeth bared and face scrunched up with anger, at another spectator.

“How can you hold your baby and say that, you piece of sh**?” her target snapped back.

“Why don't you fix your hair?” the mum, who was well-presented, replied.

While this was happening, another mum is seen running to the sidelines, kicking the fence and yelling, “Gary, get on the f**king field!”

And a third scene from the incident-filled event showed the original mum, still holding her child, arguing with a young umpire and trying to knock a phone out of the hands of someone else who was filming.

“You look like a piece of s***,” she said to a person off-screen before the umpire told her she was speaking to a child and she should step away from the field.

“Oh, so I can't tell him he's a piece of s***?” she asks.

Someone nearby then asks her if she's drunk, to which she replies, saying she's not.

"Despicable"

The video has since racked up over nine million views, with thousands of commenters expressing their disapproval of the mum's behaviour. 

“Someone needs to call CPS on her for child endangerment,” one person urged, adding, “Assaulting people while she's holding her child, putting them in harm's way.”

“She’s using the baby as a shield to keep her from getting that ass whooped!” someone else theorised.

And a third added: “Talking to other people’s children in that way...”

“The mum behaving like that with a baby in her arms is despicable,” a fourth claimed.

However, a few people stood up for the mum, even without knowing the context.

“Mama bear protecting her cub, I bet,” one woman wrote.
