My brother wants to name his baby after his favourite Kesha song'

"He didn’t want to tell me the name because he didn’t want me to steal it if I end up having a baby girl before they have one,” she wrote. “No way in hell I would use that name.”

American couple name their baby 'Brisbane'

Picking the perfect baby name is challenging at the best of times.

You could play it safe with a traditional name, be a bit risky with something a little out of left field, or go completely crazy with something you’ve made up yourself.

And then you have to get both parents to agree? Good luck with that.

One woman has shared that her brother is planning to go with something very unique for his fourth child, but she doesn’t think it’s the right call.

"No way in hell would I use that name"

The Sun reports the woman took to Facebook to reveal her brother and SIL already had three girls - Lilah, Maizie and Blakely.

Despite the fact the couple isn’t pregnant yet, he already has his heart set on the name ‘Tymber’.

Why, you ask? It’s only after his favourite Kesha song.

The woman said the song ‘Timber’ was her brother and SIL’s ‘song’, and they hold it in a very special place.

“My brother didn’t want to tell me the name because he didn’t want me to steal it if I end up having a baby girl before they have one,” she wrote.

“No way in hell I would use that name.”

"I'm judging on so many levels"

Unsurprisingly, people were quick to judge the moniker once the woman had shared it on Facebook.

“That’s their song?!,” one person asked. “I’m judging on so many levels.”

“Please do your best to talk them out of it,” a second person begged.

“People who use names like this are always so sure someone will steal them,” a third person said.

Other people said they couldn’t believe they picked that particular song to honour their potential fourth child.

“I like Kesha as much as the next girl, but that’s awful,” one woman wrote.

“There are a lot of songs out there, and they named their baby after this one…,” a second person said.

"We are both insanely picky, so this was a huge win"

‘Tymber’ isn’t the only music-based name to cause controversy online in recent times, as another mum revealed she and her husband had an “awful” time trying to come up with a name for their baby girl.

The Sun reports the mum took to Reddit to say they’d finally agreed on a name they “both loved”, but now she was having second thoughts.

“I love the song ‘Vienna’, it’s very special to me,” she said.

“I also love ‘V’ names for girls.”

Her husband “adored” the name, which the mum described as a “huge win”.

“We are both insanely picky, so this was huge,” she said.

“But then I realised … Vienna sausages. Why?.

“I don’t want my daughter to be associated with canned sausages.”

"I think it's very easy to look past"

The mum wondered if people would be able to look past the link, and the internet was very divided.

“I’m sorry, sausages are the first thing that come to mind,” one person said.

“On the other hand, I think it’s very easy to look past.”

“I immediately thought of Vienna Sausages when I read the name, but I would never say that to someone if it was their name,” a second person said.
