Activity
Legs
Glue three matchsticks together, creating two legs and a torso.
Tie yarn or embroidery thread around the waist and continue wrapping down toward the legs. Wrap the legs individually to give the appearance of pants. Wrap the legs together to create a skirt. When you finish wrapping the lower part of the body glue and cut off the excess yarn.
Torso and arms
Glue matchstick arms higher up the torso.
Tie yarn or thread, in another colour, around the waist and continue wrapping upward around the body, and then eventually around the arms and body. Stop wrapping when you reach the neck . When you finish wrapping glue and cut off the excess yarn.
Small head, big hair
Glue a wood bead onto the matchstick neck.
Wrap yarn around your hand more than a few times. Tie the middle of the wrapped yarn, and cut the sides. Glue the tied yarn to the top of the head bead.
Draw a face onto the bead. Trim and style the yarn hair.
Optional features
Glue fabric scraps and haberdashery to the doll to give it personal style.
