A family Christmas photo is going viral online—for all the wrong reasons.
The internet’s heart collectively broke after a 5-year-old boy, Trü, was left out of his stepmother's matching pyjama tradition.

"Dead wrong"
In the image, Trü is seen wearing black pyjamas with “Christmas Crew” printed on them—a stark contrast to his father, stepmother, and step-siblings, who are dressed in coordinated green pyjamas.
The image sparked widespread outrage, but Trü’s mother, Taylor, has taken to TikTok to redirect blame.
“The internet takes things and flips it,” she started her video.
The nursing student explained that there’s a set schedule that she and her ex-partner share.
She explained that she shares custody of her son with her ex-partner, alternating weekends.
On this particular occasion, Trü’s father had arranged an extra weekend, which Taylor agreed to, unaware it coincided with a scheduled family Christmas photo.
Baffled and upset on her son's behalf, she shared the images to Facebook.
''I'm like, okay, cute, but why doesn't my son have on the same pajamas on as everyone else?'' Taylor questioned.
Taylor said the black pyjamas Trü wore were the ones she had packed for his overnight stay.
When she asked her ex about the mismatch, the response she received was: “They were out of stock.”
She says the father was “dead wrong” for not planning ahead.

"I would never ever leave him out"
“I just feel like Dad should have just left his son at home with me and all of this would have just been avoided,” the mother said.
Taylor's video has drawn thousands of comments.
“Stepmom here. I am sorry your sweet boy had to go through that. It’s not right,” one user wrote.
“Why wasn’t his pjs purchased when everyone’s else’s was??? That’s the real question,” another asked.
Others criticised her for airing the issue online.
“My thing is, why bring it to Facebook?” one questioned.
“I'm just glad dad included his child,” another added.
Riya Lee, Tru’s stepmother, has now also defended the photo.
Trü’s stepmother, Riya Lee, has also spoken out, defending herself in a Facebook post.
'I definitely didn’t know he was going to be in our pictures and the mother that I am, I would never ever leave him out,” she said.

Taylor clarified that her frustration isn’t, and never was, directed at Riya.
''I've never blamed her, I've always blamed Dad from the jump,'' she said.
Despite the backlash, Taylor says her son had an enjoyable Christmas, regardless of the pyjama debacle.
