Megan Pustetto has been spotted wearing a see-through dress defiantly after recently being body-shamed online.

Pustetto, 32, runs the successful podcast So Dramatic and website, where she’s an endless source of reality television, influencer and breaking news gossip.

She recently stepped out wearing a custom black gown by Haus of Aota at the Perth Kaleidoscope fashion show and was looking incredible.

Pustetto explained that she decided to show off some skin in response to being called “fat” online because she wanted to send a strong message.

“I posted the see-through dress photo as a f*ck you to the body-shamers because I really don’t give a f*ck what people think of me or my body,” she told news.com.au.

In December, the tea spiller found herself becoming the story after she was ruthlessly attacked online over gaining weight.

Pustetto said that she had gained a “couple of kilos” and gone up maybe a dress size and it didn’t escape the notice of trolls.

A stunning photo of Pustetto alongside Former Married At First Sight alums Lyndall Grace and Booka Nile was posted and it turned into a body-shaming nightmare.

The podcaster looked gorgeous in a figure-hugging two-piece, yet the post was inundated with people commenting on her body.

Some trolls were direct and claimed she looked “fat” and “bloated”. Others just gleefully pointed out she’d gained weight, and some people tried to be abstract in their insults, commenting things like “what happened?” or claiming she looked “different”.

In response, Pustetto called out the comments and pointed out that if you are a woman you’re always either too “fat” or too “skinny”.

Now she’s gone for a near-nude look to remind body-shamers that she won’t be tricked into hating herself.

“I think the best response to body-shamers is being even more confident in your body and flaunting what you’ve got even more because that is really going to piss them off,” she said.

Pustetto explained that she knows the cruel comments were written to make her feel insecure but she’s refusing to buy into it.

“I don’t dress to make other people comfortable with my body or to take up less space in the world,” she said.

Despite Pustetto’s empowering stance, it doesn’t mean that the online trolling didn’t hurt her feelings.

“I was really upset by the nasty comments I received about my body. It really does sting and make you feel insecure and self-conscious on some level,” she revealed.

Still the creator said that she’s not letting it get to her or dictate what she wears or doesn’t wear because she wants to send a positive message to women, especially as someone who, in the past, has struggled to love her body.

“I have put on weight recently, and in the past, I probably would have never worn a see-through dress or even shared photos of myself when I didn’t feel ‘at my best’, so to speak. I used to cover my arms, hide my cellulite, opt for black, wear things that were loose or that would suck me in, no matter how uncomfortable it was,” she admitted.

Pustetto explained that she found it a “restricting” mindset, and she’s done not wearing what she wants or hiding her body.

“I’ve become less self-conscious and self-critical and realised that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes and you shouldn’t only post photos of yourself ‘at your best’ because bodies change over time and that’s normal and that’s OK. Confidence is the most flattering thing anyone can wear,” she said.
