Apartment buildings are full of disputes between neighbours - maybe it’s to do with the fact that you have a few more of them to worry about.
But, usually they’re either dealt with directly, or kept quiet until one of you moves out.
This person has come across an argument taking place in a third, more passive-aggressive way, and the internet can’t get enough.

"Make me!"
A Reddit user has taken to the platform to vent about a bizarre interaction he came across in his apartment building.
The dispute kicked off with a simple (yet still harshly worded) request, with an anonymous writer asking a fellow resident to stop smoking in the building.
“This is a smoke free apartment. It stinks up the whole building,” the note read.
But, it was the response which turned it into a full on fight.
“Make me.”
Of course, the argument wouldn’t end here, with the original resident returning to write:
“Maybe you should move! Plus your dogs stink up the whole building as well,” the note said.
“We pay rent here too and should have the right to do what we like.”
A respondent replied:
“You lost that right when you signed the lease to a non-smoking complex,” they said.
“Maybe you should have read the lease! So please stop.”
The second person also corrected some grammar in the first response. Yikes.

But there's a twist...
These letters have the internet in a chokehold, with close to 4000 people weighing in on the debate, and who is really in the right.
"LMAOOOO fixing the 'too' is top tier pettiness," said one commenter.
"Not the 'make me' lol omg," said another.
"I love reading apartment drama like this I’m nosy af," a third person added.
And, even though to some, the smokers would seem to be wrong, the author of the post confirmed otherwise.
The poster was also the dog owner in question - incorrectly assumed to have fired the first shot.
“Saw this note this morning and thought it was funny that we were the assumed note-leavers in the building,” he said.
“There's been a constant note war going on for a year now where notes have been put up asking people to stop smoking in their apartments.
“Of course these don't deter the smokers and the complex doesn't have a no smoking policy. We are the only dog owners and know this is how apartment living is like with the smoking.
“This is our response to being dragged into this fight.”
The response reads: “Hi. Dog owners here. We are not involved in this. Rude…”
Will this ever be resolved?
At this point in time, there is no happy ending to this story.
The original poster returned to Reddit confirming that the notes were taken down, leaving the residents in no man's land.
“Notes were taken down, so guess it’s a stalemate for now,” he wrote in an update.
So, it seems the fight will go on for yet another day.
