HUNDREDS of Gold Coasters have lined up for blocks just to get at taste of one of the world’s most sought-after burgers.
The one-time only In-N-Out pop-up burger event was forced to open its doors at Miami’s Bine Bar and Dining more than an hour early at 9.30am to try and calm the rapidly growing crowds eager to try food from the US burger chain.
More than 1000 people lined up in the hot sun, but the exclusive 500 burgers were sold by 12:30pm.
Elanora mother and son duo Marita and Whaino Simpson started lining up for their burgers and soft drink at 2am.
Whaino, 15, said the seven-hour wait was worth it.
“These burgers are so good. I have heard of them before on YouTube and have always wanted to try one,” he said.
“Mum and I were here at 2am because we didn’t want to miss it.
“It’s just the taste is something else. I would love them to come to the Gold Coast or I am going to America to get another one.”
Mrs Simpson, 44, said she should win mother of the year for letting her son do the long wait.
“We thought it was going to storm but we didn’t mind, I just wanted my baby to get a burger,” she said.
“They are so good though, because we got here so early we got a special burger – a quad.
“We also got a special keepsake coin because they said we broke the record for the earliest people to line up ever.
“Now we are finished I think we are going to line up again for a double.”
The renowned burger joint, based in California, is famous for serving up made-to-order shakes, burgers and fries with special sauce.

Representatives from the US firm are firing up the grill until 2pm.
There are six US staffers working the counter with the rest made up of locals.
In-N-Out Manager Luis Hernandez said he had never seen anyone line-up for a burger so early.
“It is commitment,” he laughed.
“We are glad to see people are keen. We are using these pop-ups as market research to see what people think.
“We started preparing everything fresh today. Our buns and cheese are from America, and then we have Aussie beef in the burgers and fresh lettuce. We don’t have our fries, but potato chips.”
Bine Bar & Dining manager Scott Imlach said the crowds, which extended along Chairlift Avenue and Great Hall Drive, were larger than Tuesday’s In-N-Out pop-up in Brisbane.
