It’s been more than three years since beloved restaurant Hellenika closed its doors on the Gold Coast, but now co-owner Simon Gloftis has announced a comeback.

The dining institution, which moved up the M1 to Brisbane in 2018, will operate an outpost at the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500.

In an event first, the celebrated Greek restaurant will takeover a VIP trackside lounge from October 28 to 30.

“Hellenika is deeply connected to the Gold Coast, having opened and resided there for 10 years,” Mr Gloftis said.

“We are excited to return and support Supercars with superb trackside hospitality.”

It has yet to be confirmed if the almost-as-famous zucchini chips, octopus and lamb shoulder have been invited to the reunion, but head chef Bryan Kelly is planning on pulling out the crowd pleaser.

“It will be a thrill serving signature Hellenika dishes at the event – not only due to the fast-paced nature of the Gold Coast 500, but given our connection with the Gold Coast and that many of the dishes originated there,”

“It’s like a homecoming.”

The menu, featuring more than 18 signature Hellenika dishes, will be accompanied with Charles Heidsieck Reserve Champagne, select sprits, fine wine, and beer.

Chef demonstrations, a private barista, DJ, and appearances from race drivers will round out the action.

Tickets for the Hellenika Supercars trackside lounge are limited and available to purchase as individual days, weekend or as a three-day package.
