Griffith University has revealed the most popular degrees among Gold Coast students as it prepares to welcome thousands to its campus.

GRIFFITH University has revealed the most popular degrees among Gold Coast students as it prepares to welcome thousands in 2019.
Degrees in business, education, engineering, criminology and criminal justice, exercise science and biomedical science have topped the list again this year after the university made almost 3000 offers in its December round.
It will see another 1500 offers made this week on the Gold Coast, as well as more in the coming months.
Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor Debra Henly said these degrees consistently proved the most popular among students.

“The popularity of these degrees reflects the quality of teaching, opportunities on offer for students, and increasing demand for graduates with skills and knowledge in these fields,” he said.
“Griffith has an outstanding reputation for health education, in particular on the Gold Coast.
“Of the many thousands of universities teaching nursing, Griffith is ranked 11th in the world in the 2018 Shanghai Ranking of World Universities.”

For incoming Bachelor of Biomedical Science student and the first in her immediate family to go to university Amy McEwen, the decision was a no-brainer.
“It’s basically a gateway into medicine for me because you need to do an undergraduate degree now,” she said.
“My ultimate goal is a neurosurgeon, but I want to specialise in Parkinson’s disease. I’ve just been really fascinated with the brain and neurology so it just seemed like a natural path to go.”
Griffith University is currently on track to make more than 5000 offers for the Gold Coast Campus, in line with its 2018 intake.
