WHEN he was a child, there was no better place to be than Dreamworld during the school holidays. Now internationally-acclaimed magician Cosentino is finally getting to perform there.
The current International Magician of the Year will host his first Australian shows in almost three years as he relives the joy and wonder of family holidays with a residency at the theme park.
Cosentino will perform 33 shows across the Easter school holidays and said he jumped at the chance.
“I used to come to Dreamworld with my family as a child and always wanted to do a show here, I’m ticking it off my bucket list,” Cosentino said.
“It was an easy decision, it was just a dream come true to do this kind of residency and it’s rare, it’s rare for an act to be sitting in one spot for such a long time so it’s pretty special.
“We’re bringing grand illusions, death-defying escapes, mind-boggling magic.”

Dreamworld CEO Paul Callander said the park’s theatre had been refurbished, and would allow room for nearly 1000 guests per show.
“Cosentino will be performing two shows daily from April 6 to April 21, which is all inclusive in the entry price of Dreamworld,” he said.
The trickster admits two 30-minute shows a day will be a “challenge”.
“My shows are high-adrenaline, they’re very fast-paced, they move quickly, so two shows a day is a lot of energy but I’m excited to do it … I’m tour-fit, so I’m good to go.”

But it may be hard to keep the self-confessed “adrenaline junkie” on the stage and away from the thrill rides.
“I like things that go fast, that you really feel your stomach in your mouth, even as a kid I’d jump on the roller-coasters, my older brothers would take me,” he said.
In fact it will be another family affair with his brothers helping behind the scenes.
