They’re the barely-there bikinis worth more than $7 million annually to their Gold Coast founder.
Frankii Swim designer and director Rebecca Klodinsky has become a global swimwear sensation thanks to famous fans including Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Bella Hadid and Rihanna.
The 30-year-old St Michael’s College graduate was studying psychology and forensic science at university when she founded Frankii six years ago, a label that specialises in accessibly priced, precision-cut basics.

“I think I caught the eCommerce wave at the right time,” she said.
“Instagram had just started and that’s where I started – marketing with Instagram was all I knew how to do at the time.
“At the time eCommerce was not really a thing. It scared a lot of people to buy online, but the way we perceived shopping was starting to change and that really helped me.”
But it was off the back – and famous backside – of Kardashian customers that Frankii’s fortunes swelled.
“Rihanna and Kris Jenner were the first and that cemented the brand, really put us on the map on a global scale,” Klodinsky said.

Kylie Jenner turned a groundswell into a tsunami when she wore the Darling bralette with G3 briefs after buying them online herself.
“That was huge. We sold out in 24 hours and we’ve had (the style) ever since,” Klodinsky said.
“It’s the same one that Kim (Kardashian) just wore too.”
The eCommerce space makes it easier for the designer, but she said becoming a single mum to a 22-month-old has been a huge adjustment.
“I’m still based between the Gold Coast and Melbourne – I’m blessed with freedom in that way,” she said.
“Before becoming a mum Frankii was my baby and it still is, but (my son) puts everything into perspective.”
