For real life? Bluey could be getting her very own video game

Internet sleuths have found evidence of an exciting new offering from our favourite cartoon dog.

Bluey episode touches on themes of adoption and parents are loving it

Everyone’s favourite cartoon dog Bluey is taking over the world at record speed and its next offering for fans could be a children’s video game.

It appears that a video game adaptation of the Aussie animated series revolving around the young QLD blue heeler and her family, is coming soon.

Internet sleuths have discovered that ‘Bluey: The Videogame’ has been rated by the Australian Classification Board, with the listing being picked up by the AusVGClassifications bot on Twitter and the Nintendo site Vooks.

"Follow the Heeler family on a holiday adventure"

The Australian Classification Board posted a listing for a video game based on Bluey on July 17, giving ‘Bluey: The Videogame’ a G for general.

The full listing includes a description which reads, “Follow the Heeler family on a holiday adventure to find a treasure hidden by Bandit and his brothers many years ago. The game takes place in five iconic show locations, and its story mode tells a family-friendly adventure about creating your own cherished memories with your family.”

It appears the game will be coming to PC, Playstation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch and Xbox.

While the rating itself doesn’t mean the game is about to be made imminently, the site does include details that point to it being the real deal.

The game has heavy hitters behind it - the listing says the developer is Artax Games and it will be published by Outright Games, a British company known for its family-friendly titles like PJ Masks, Paw Patrol and Peppa Pig.

This also means the game isn’t being developed here in Australia, unfortunately.

While Queensland’s Ludo Studio created Bluey, and it was commissioned by the ABC, it is jointly owned by the BBC in the UK, which holds the rights to global distribution and merchandising deals.

"There will definitely be more Bluey"

The discovery comes days after the creators of our favourite animation confirmed that a fourth series of the iconic Aussie TV show is likely to come.

In a recent interview with The Courier Mail, Bluey's executive producer, Daley Pearson, confirmed the exciting news that new episodes are on their way. But the agreement to keep on going with new episodes came with a very strict condition.

"We have all agreed we wouldn't keep making it if wasn't as good as the one that came before, so we want to make sure we keep doing that," Daley told the publication.

"There will definitely be more Bluey. The amount of families who have taken Bluey in is a privilege that we don't, and have never, taken that lightly."
