Home grown Australian artists including Stace Cadet, Brooke Evers, Tigerlily, Benson, Yolanda Be Cool, Little Fritter, Barney Cools, Alex Preston and Alex Hayes will also be leading the party at the beach club.

“These recognisable names are people that have played at some of the largest venues in the world,” he said.

“It’s a real pleasure to welcome them to the Cali Beach family for the next 12 months.

“The Stafford’s have opened a lot of doors and our residency announcement today shows the results.

“At Artesian we feel that Cali is a venue unlike anything in Australia and we really wanted to bring an international level experience to Australia - now we have the talent roster to achieve that.”

The artists won’t be the only entertainment at the venue on top of a four-storey property at the corner of Surfers Paradise Blvd and Elkhorn Ave.

Artesian announced professional dance companies will provide choreographed shows and special guest appearances are also on the cards.

A new “Ibiza” like beach club precinct launching on the Gold Coast within week will employ 120-plus staff and cater for up to 1000 guests at one time.

The $10 million, 5000sq m Cali Beach Club opens on Friday, September 24, from 5pm followed by an official all-day launch party the next day from 11am.

The Artesian Hospitality empire’s venue will employ more than 120 staff including dancers and life guards to cater for its four pools, two restaurants, multiple bars, VIP cabanas and poolside entertainment.

Artesian managing partner Matt Keegan said staff would look after up to a 1000 patrons at one time throughout the club.

“During a period when hospitality has been struggling, to be able to hire from 120 to 130 new staff is something you don’t see happen everyday,” he said.

“Venues like these don’t only spur tourism and the economy along but also help locals with employment.”

The venue on top of a four-storey property at the corner of Surfers Paradise Blvd and Elkhorn Ave took just under 12 months to build.

It includes an outdoor cinema, a 26-person glass elevator and a volleyball court - and was worth every cent of its $10 million, Mr Keegan said.

“Cali Beach marks the start of something special for hospitality and entertainment offerings in Queensland, and Australia in general,” he said.

“All the time and money has been worth it though, and we couldn’t be happier with the result.”

Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate said the venue “is exactly what Surfers Paradise, and our city needs”.

“I applaud the team behind this development as it will be a beacon for locals and visitors,” he said.

“I look forward to seeing the evolution of Cali Beach into one of those must-visit destinations year-round.’’

OPERATORS of a bold $10 million rooftop open-air beach club are promising it will bring next-level Ibiza and Miami buzz to Surfers Paradise.

Cali Beach Club is on track to launch later this month, with established Surfers Paradise operator Artesian Hospitality confident it will attract plenty of the $58 billion Australians spent on international travel pre Covid-19.

The official opening date will be on September 24.

Artesian – which operates Sin City and The Bedroom nightclubs, White Rhino Bar & Eats and Surfers Pavilion – has created the Australian-first venue in the tourism heart of the Gold Coast.

Cali Beach Club will be on the fourth-floor roof of a site at the corner of Surfers Paradise Blvd and Elkhorn Ave.

It stretches across 5000 sqm and will include a five-star Japanese restaurant, beach volleyball court, a glass elevator, four pools and multiple bars including VIP cabanas.

It will be in full swing by the time the internal Australian borders are expected to open near the end of this year and early next year.

LEGENDARY LANDMARK DESIGNER’S LAST WISH FOR SURFERS PARADISE

Artesian managing partner Matt Keegan said it would draw a new line in the sand for the Gold Coast to cement itself as Australia’s leading tourism destination.

“Our goal was to bring the ultimate poolside day and night experience to Australia and that’s exactly what we have done,” he said.

“Spring is the perfect time to introduce Cali, before things really heat up for summer.

“It’ll be similar to what people can experience in areas like Miami, Ibiza and in the Greek Islands.

“It’s got what Australians love and that’s being exposed to the elements with beautiful views, providing an all-round experience for daytime drinking and night-time partying.”

Mr Keegan said it would help make the Gold Coast the prime destination for interstate holiday goers.

“People wanting to travel can spend an hour or two on a plane and experience an international quality venue.

“Australian tastes are maturing and this venue will meet those needs. Those who normally head internationally for holidays will now find what they’re looking for on the Gold Coast.

“Cali is a destination venue and is going to make the Gold Coast the top destination city.”

Prior to opening, Cali Beach will unveil a roster of national and international resident DJs and artists.

Bookings for VIP Cabanas, booths and daybeds are available from midday this Friday.
