A swanky diner promises to become a hot new hangout spot after opening in Broadbeach with a tempting menu of ‘reinvented’ American classics.

A SWANKY new American diner has opened in the heart of the Gold Coast.

Fat Freddy’s Beach Bar & Diner is tipped to be a hot new hangout spot after becoming the first restaurant to open in the new multi-level dining precinct underneath the Avani apartment tower in Broadbeach.

The restaurant’s menu, designed by Executive Chef Braden White, features “reinvented” American classics including boozy milkshakes, spiked sodas, fried chicken ribs with hot sour sauce, BBQ spiced popcorn with bacon butter and wagyu jerky with smoked cream and BBQ salt.

“The popularity of American diner food is at an all-time high, however it’s not often executed to the standard that really pays respectful homage to the classic flavours of these all-American dishes and drinks,” he said.

NEW $7 MILLION BROADBEACH DINING PRECINCT TO OPEN IN AUGUST

“We have taken American diner classics, reinvented and refined them whilst ensuring the flavours of the classic US dishes shine through.”

The diner’s interior has a cheeky take on American celebrity culture, with a ‘Wall of Infamy’ including photographers of big names such as Charlie Sheen, Bill Clinton, Britney Spears and Monica Lewinsky.

The venue, opened by The Good Time Group CEO Ben Walsh, is part of a new $8 million dining precinct opening under the five-star Avani apartment tower.

Next door to Fat Freddy’s Beach Bar & Diner is a nine-screen sports bar and a luxury gaming lounge with 38 electronic gaming machines.

Fat Freddy’s is open from 11am to 11pm seven days a week.
