Australian model Lara Worthington has turned heads as she stepped out at a designer beauty event wearing all black.

Worthington attended the launch of designer brand YSL’s Loveshine Factory at the Icebergs Dining Room in Bondi on Thursday.

She wore a figure-hugging black, ankle-length gown that flared out at the knees.

The halter neck dress also featured a deep neckline that stopped close to her naval.

The dress also featured a belt design near the hips with a large seashell to hold it together and give the look a pop of colour.

Worthington, who is married to Australian actor Sam Worthington, known for his role in the Avatar franchise, finished the look with black patent heel boots and had her newly shorted hair styled in a messy, wet look.

She opted for a heavier eye makeup and simple drop earrings look for the occasion.

Other stars in attendance at the event included Erin Holland, Sarah Ellen and Montana Cox.

It was a completely different look to one fans saw last month where she was holidaying in Costa Rica, where the 37-year-old wore Crocs as she made her way along the coastline and into the surf.

Worthington, who rose to fame in part to a viral Tourism Australia advertisement, is known for being incredibly private about her life with her husband and their three sons — Rocket, 7, Racer, 5, and River, 4.

However, last year she gave a glimpse into the luxurious home the family share in the United States, as they split their time between New York and Sydney.

Taking to Instagram, Worthington shared a rare series of personal pictures showcasing their sprawling US property.

She captioned the album: “Soulful weekend at home.”

A custom-built timber in-ground spa on a deck could be seen in one image, while another revealed a stunning peek at their wooden home interiors.

Other pictures showed idyllic moments, including Lara and one of her young sons relaxing in the spa during a breathtaking sunset.

Once a tabloid fixture, Sydney-born Worthington now makes a concentrated effort to keep her life private.

However, she opened up about her family in a rare interview with Marie Claire in 2022, explaining that they try to keep things as “normal” as possible for their young kids.

“We tend to try to keep our lives as normal as we can. I don’t think about that stuff ever. I don’t make it my reality,” she said of the tabloid culture she’s experienced for more than 20 years.

“My mum instilled in me that it’s important to maintain a little bit of mystery. I think it’s hard in this day and age to achieve. I’ve tried to keep things pretty close to my chest and I think there’s a certain elegance to that.”
