Just when you think fashion couldn’t get anymore … bizarre, out comes an online retailer with a design that has left shoppers wondering “why”.

Global fashion brand, Fashion Nova, who boasts 20 million followers on Instagram, is known for its daring outfits, but one of its most recent looks has left thousands very confused.

On Wednesday, the popular global retailer shared a photograph of a model wearing a fitted black jumpsuit for $US34.99 ($A45).

The eye-catching long-sleeve design features a triangle cut-out on the chest and sheer mesh panels on the arms and legs.

And it appears not everyone is a fan, after the post was bombarded with comments baffled by the unique jumpsuit.

“Am I the only one that doesn’t get it?” one person asked, to which a second bluntly responded, “Nope.”

“WTF is this outfit!” said another, while a third person asked, “Who would wear this?”

One follower made reference to the film Mean Girls, saying: “I saw Regina George cutting triangles in her chest so I cut triangles in my chest.”

But it wasn’t all bad news for the Dark Fantasy Jumpsuit with the post attracting almost 10,000 ‘likes’ and some leaving positive reviews.

“Wow, I love this,” one person wrote, while another said: “Very nice and impressive.”

In 2019, the controversial clothing label was roasted for its “underboob” bikini after sharing a snap of a model posing poolside in the black two-piece.

While the “Euphoria Bikini” looks like any other ordinary swimsuit from behind, the front is a different story.

It just about covers the top of your boobs while leaving underneath totally exposed – and followers of the budget-retailer had plenty to say.

“If I had these tatas, hell no I’d be scared for them to fall out,” one person wrote at the time.

“This suit is made to take pictures in, not to actually swim or sunbathe,” another added.

But the biggest viral swimwear set of all is undoubtedly the V-string bikini that heralds from Australia. This controversial item of clothing sparked the trend that has now arguably spiralled out of control.
