Chris Hemsworth’s trainer said the Thor actor became the real life God of Thunder when he went vegan.
Hemsworth’s childhood friend and personal trainer Luke Zocchi told The Daily Telegraph the transition to a plant based diet interrupted his bowel movements, but thankfully they were given a handy tip to stop Hemsy tooting.
“He went to the toilet a lot more — legumes and beans if you eat a lot you do get very gassy and bloaty,” Mr Zocchi said.
“But then this chef in Atlanta taught us a trick: use seaweed paper and soak the beans in water and that helps (stop) the gassiness.”
Mr Zocchi, who grew up with Hemsworth in Melbourne, was named as an ambassador for The Alternative Meat Co, Australia’s first faux meat company, now available at Coles and Huxtaburger.
Veganism has become a big part of Zocchi’s life since he and Hemsworth watched documentary What The Health in the back of a car in Stuttgart, Germany.
Mr Zocchi said the Men In Black actor had a “meltdown” while he watched and on the spot decided to eat less meat.
He said his experience transitioning his famously ripped best bud from a red meat heavy diet to plant based was a challenge, but has changed his whole perspective on the industry.
“(Training for) Avengers 2, for three months for breakfast he’d have a fillet steak, three boiled eggs and 100 grams of blueberries — that was just breakfast,” he said,
“It was a big learning curve for me because I thought to be big and muscly you’ve got to eat meat, you can’t do it off a plant based diet — but you can.
“Instead of eating a beef burger every day and instead have one of these (Alternative Meat Co patties), the effect on the environment would be massive.”
