Controversial debate explodes over the 'correct' way to eat a sandwich

There a three options for your next bite, and your answer will reveal if you're a "psycho" or not.

You've been eating your sandwich wrong

It's a simple photo... a half-eaten sandwich with what presumably looks to be bacon, egg and cheese on it.

There are three potential bite options you can take next.

A) The crust

B) The middle

C) The corner

It seems like a straightforward question, one that you might answer based on factors such as your hunger levels, the quality of the sandwich, and your history of eating sandwiches.

But context aside, this choose-your-own-adventure question is actually a trap, and if you choose the 'incorrect' choice, you're apparently a "psycho."

"A is the wrong answer"

The photo was originally shared on Reddit but was reposted by the popular TikTok account Food Porn.

After asking, "Which one is your next bite?" the man in the video puts forward his own thoughts on the common conundrum.

"Before we talk about the choice between B and C, we can all agree that A is the wrong answer," he said matter-of-factly.

"No sane human being comes across this sandwich scenario and goes in for the A."

He then declared that the correct answer is, in fact, C, as it didn't remove the centre and also helped to distribute the toppings evenly. Plus, he argued that taking out the 'good' bite, B, first meant getting lots of sandwich fillings or condiments on your face.

"Gotta maximise the flavour down the home stretch"

Naturally, commenters were split into all different camps, with many saying that taking the best bite next was indeed "insane."

"Anyone going for B is legitimately a psycho," one wrote.

Another said, "C, then B. Gotta maximise the flavour down the home stretch."

Then this person agreed, saying they were also playing the long game: "I’m going C, not because I want it but because of how good B will be after C."

"A small bite of B with a prompt transition onto bite C," another articulated.

However, this person came out in favour of an A,B, then C approach, saying, "I’d set up for more B. So I’d take A and C off first, then maybe take the corner, leaving B for the last bite. End of story."

Then another brave commenter said they'd take B first but then move on to C to "Add some crunch on the heels of a flavourful mouthful."

The Kidspot team weighed in

Nobody seemed to agree on an approach, so I asked the Kidspot office for their thoughts, hoping to find some clarity.

Oh, how wrong was I...

Em wrote: "C. You must eliminate that waste of space bread-y corner before progressing to what is the superior bite, which is B."

And Joel, the resident man on the team went straight for the middle (psycho) and said: "B. Don't even bother with C, it probably ends up in the bin once all the good stuff is gone."

Meanwhile, Nama circumnavigated the issue altogether and said, "I cut the crusts off so alllll of it is B."

Maybe that's the right answer in all of this — a child-like sando, just like you'd make for your kids. They're onto something!
