A Coast dive bar has been voted as the best in the region and they say it’s because they are ‘a barrel of fun’.

Southport bar Last Night on Earth was recently voted as the best nightclub on the Coast – following up from winning the 2021 best burger.

General manager Peter Batley said he was proud to see Southport making it on the map again.

“We are stoked that the public voted us in,” he said.

“We are really close to all our customers, we know most of our them by name.

“Whenever there is a call to arms they all do the right thing and jump on,” Mr Batley said.

He said after saying no to trading past 12pm they were happy with where they were at as a business.

“The fun doesn't start at 10pm, we are a barrel of fun from 4pm to midnight,” Mr Batley said.

“Also everyone is welcome at Last Night on Earth.

“We don't care if you got $200 pair of shoes or a pair of thongs.

“We are just a super inclusive and happy place.”

He said all the business owners were excited about the new Southport transformation into the grunge live music capital of the Coast.

“All the businesses here work together and all support each other heaps,” Mr Batley said.

“It is good to see Southport moving forward.”
