Influencer Jesselou de la Croix can add ‘podcaster’ to her extensive list of titles, as the Gold Coast mum of two prepares to step into the world of broadcasting.

That is, while still juggling successful careers in poetry and art.

Better known as Louie Luxe to her 48,000 Instagram followers, Jessie this week announced the launch of her “Big Love Energy” podcast, due to premiere on July 11th as part of the Sunnydale Studios network.

“Having been in the social media space for eight years … I’ve always been one to keep my cards close to my chest,” she said.

“I’m keen to step out into the community to provide a space for like-minded women and men who have had experiences similar to mine.”

Taking its name from a slogan used in her designs, the podcast will feature honest and empowering conversations about a number of topics including motherhood, relationships and wellness.

Also included will be Jessie's reflections on lessons learned from her journey through divorce and single motherhood.

“My ex-husband and I went our separate ways at the start of Covid after 11 years together,” she said.

“There was a feeling at the start of the pandemic where people reassessed their life and took stock of where they were at – when it happened for me I very much started a self-healing chapter.

“I’m not into toxic positivity or making it about rainbow and glitter – I want to allow women to feel supported if they’re not feeling happy … it’s a very common issue and I want people to know there’s light at the end of the tunnel.”

The idea for the podcast came about when Sunnydale Studio Head Ty Kudla overheard Jessie talking outside a boardroom meeting.

Spotting her potential as a broadcaster, Mr Kudla quickly pitched the idea of podcasting to her, before the pair brainstormed what direction her show would take.

“I was sitting in our boardroom having a meeting and I heard her voice in the background and realised she was the perfect candidate for what we were after,” he said.

“Our aim at Sunnydale is to find existing talent that has a loyal and dedicated following and provide insider access to a more real or unfiltered format of engagement.”

The show will include a number of special guests, with confirmed appearances from TV personality and DJ Brooke Evers, and Hot Tomato radio host Emily Jade-O’Keeffe, who also split from her husband in the early days of the pandemic.

“(Emily and I) went through our separations at a similar time … we’re going to share with listeners what it‘s like being a friend of someone going through those times, and how you can show up as a friend to help,” Jessie said.

“I want to get down and dirty and share about the times you’ve been broken – those times that you can’t share or people don’t see in the glamorised social media world.

“People going through similar things have said to me ‘where do I even start or begin’ – I don’t want to be an advocate for divorce, but I want people to be happy – if you have to do the work alone, that’s fine too.

“At the end of the day, the show is about helping people to light up so the world as a whole is a better place.”
