ANOTHER shocking restaurant closure has hit one of the most established hospitality suburbs on the Gold Coast.
Award-winning Palm Beach restaurant 8th Ave Terrace today announced this would be its last week of trading.
“It is with heavy hearts that 8th Ave Terrace closes its doors this week,” the restaurant’s social pages read.
“We are all extremely proud of everything that our little Palm Beach restaurant has accomplished and thank everyone who has helped and supported us along the way.
“All the best to everyone out there who is contributing to the Gold Coast’s rich dining culture.”
FIVE OF THE BEST PLACES TO EAT IN PALM BEACH
The closure comes as a surprise to many, as the multi-tier venue with an open terrace and ocean views seeming to have high patronage and nabbed a spot in the Queensland Delicious 100 for 2017.
Owners Shannon Baier-Dry and Jordan Stubbs also own Espresso Moto Palm Beach, established since 2014 and Espresso Moto Coolangatta only opened this month.
8th Ave’s news comes after fellow highly regarded restaurant Sparrow Eating House from experienced restaurateur Andrew Whiting closed last week.
Co-owner Mr Baier-Dry declined to comment on the reasons for 8th Ave’s closure for now.
