The largest boat show in the southern hemisphere and highly anticipated second instalment of the Gold Coast Pacific Airshow are joining forces to deliver an entertainment extravaganza.

The Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS), starting Thursday and running for four days, will combine marine lifestyle displays with adrenaline pumping aviation.

SCIBS general manager Johan Hasser said the collaboration was designed to give showgoers a taste of the upcoming 2024 Pacific Airshow Gold Coast in August as well as offer SCIBS visitors more thrilling entertainment over the weekend.

“We’ve partnered with Pacific Airshow Gold Coast to double the excitement on offer,” he said.

Both events contribute significantly to the economy with SCIBS injecting $443 million into Queensland and Pacific Airshow estimated to inject $25 million into Gold Coast.

Pacific Airshow Gold Coast director of event operations Sam Pearce said he was thrilled to be collaborating with SCIBS.

“We know the aerobatic display and plane exhibit will give crowds a glimpse into the [Pacific Airshow].

“The Airshow features some of the best civilian and military performers from around the globe performing spectacular stunts across the three days,” he said.

SCIBS showgoers can expect more than 300 exhibitors and over 700 boats as well as Gold Coast pilot Hayden Pullen executing thrilling aerobatic moves over the weekend.

As well as its enormous showcase of marine lifestyle products, visitors to SCIBS 2024 will be able to see the Airshow’s custom designed plane on display at Sanctuary Cove.
