They dramatically quit The Block amid tears and conflict – but it was a very different story for Jesse and Paige in Wednesday’s episode.

Two Block contestants who dramatically quit the show earlier in the season made a surprise return during Wednesday’s penultimate episode.
Perth couple Jesse and Paige bailed on The Block in week five, following weeks of escalating tension between them.
A producer eventually intervened during one brutal late-night fight between the pair, telling them things couldn’t go on as they were. The engaged couple, who have since indefinitely postponed their wedding, opted to leave the show.
They were quickly replaced by NSW sisters Maddy and Charlotte, who revealed in Wednesday’s episode that they were behind Jesse and Paige’s brief return to the show.
The sisters explained they’d wanted to meet their predecessors and show them around the finished house both teams had worked on.
And Jesse and Paige seemed like different people compared to the broken, highly emotional couple who’d quit the show some weeks earlier. The pair were all smiles as they toured the site with host Scott Cam, hugging the rest of the contestants.
But one contestant, Ricky, pointed out that it must have been a difficult journey for the pair to make.
“It must be so hard for them to see what could’ve been,” he said, referring to their now-finished home.
“Since they left, they’ve been missed a lot,” said Kristian.
Noticeably absent from Wednesday’s episode: Cairns couple Kylie and Brad, who quit the show just one week before the finish after Kylie’s dramatic on-camera breakdown last Sunday.
It remains to be seen whether Brad and Kylie will be back for Sunday’s season finale, after Kylie had earlier vowed she did not want to attend the auction for their house, even if it meant forfeiting any possible profits.
The Block auctions are set to take place on-site at Phillip Island this Saturday, and Wednesday’s episode finished with one couple earning a big advantage.
Each team had been tasked with creating a different space in The Block’s huge communal clubhouse this week, and Kristian and Mimi were deemed the winners with a perfect score of 30.
Their prize? A massive $50,000 taken off their reserve price come Saturday, making it easier for them to turn a profit and potentially even win The Block 2024.
