Married At First Sight groom Tim Gromie has been busted for using old photos on dating apps to appear more flattering to potential partners.
The controversial participant on the current MAFS season was outed in a TikTok video referencing the Victoria Facebook group ‘Sis, are we dating the same guy?’ – an online community designed to catch out men and their bad behaviour on dating apps such as Tinder.
In the group, which boasts 24,000 members, users are encouraged to post screenshots of men they’ve met on the apps and the shocking interactions they’ve had.
TikToker @jet_set_gypsea shared some of the comments from users who did not hold back in outing Tim, who has been under fire in the past week for his treatment of bride Katie Johnston on the show, saying she isn’t “short, blonde or brunette, and petite” enough for his liking.
One woman said she matched with Tim, who she claimed only wanted one thing.
“I matched with him and he asked me on a date to his house,” the woman shared on the Facebook page over the weekend.
“He’s not looking for a relationship.”
This kicked off a slew of comments from other women who say they have encountered Tim on dating apps, with TikToker @jet_set_gypsea reading out their comments in the video.
“I see him on the [dating] apps all the time. I swear it was only recently that I swiped on him ‘no,’” wrote one woman.
“My friend recently went on a date with him in Melbourne,” yet another user shared. “He catfished her and said he looked very different from his pics.”
Indeed, some women claim that the PE teacher has been using old photos taken years ago to portray himself in a more flattering light.
“Lol I went on a date with him last year, his photos were like 10 years old and he looked nothing like them,” one user wrote.
“He only wanted [friends with benefits] and I said no and left after 5mins. He didn’t take it too well he unmatched me before I did in the carpark,” one shared.
“I used to see him on there years and years ago! Constantly!” another added.
