Sea FM breakfast host Dan Anstey and new wife Clare announce baby joy

A GOLD Coast breakfast radio host has delighted listeners, announcing he and his wife are expecting a baby.

A GOLD Coast breakfast radio host announced this morning that he and his new wife are expecting their first child.

Sea FM announcer Dan Anstey and wife of three months Clare (nee Dufty) are officially pregnant with their first child, expected to arrive in April 2019.

“We’re absolutely over the moon, Duff mostly because it’s the culmination of a lifetime of cluckiness and myself because it’s the culmination of a lifetime of bad puns,” Anstey said.

“We couldn’t be happier and can’t wait to meet our new best friend in April 2019.”

The news comes as no shock to the Bulletin, who Anstey told before the wedding that they had locked in a weekend in Byron Bay after the wedding, with one thing on their mind.

“A baby-making moon,” Anstey said.

“It’s a mini moon. She’s 31 now so she’s like ‘go time’. I’m the brakes, she’s the accelerator.”

“I can’t believe he said that,” his wife to be interrupted.

“Obviously, I’ve always wanted to have kids so badly. He proposed and I was like ‘I don’t care about the wedding’. I want to get started …”

Anstey proposed on Christmas Day last year after the pair moved up to the Gold Coast together from Melbourne for his Sea FM gig late 2016.
