PR Queen Roxy Jacenko has fired back at one of her former reality TV foes, who revealed she currently holds a record nobody wants.

SAS Australia trainer Ant Middleton confirmed on-air with Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa on Friday that Jacenko, 42, is the record-holder for shortest stint as a contestant on any season of SAS. That’s including the two seasons that have aired so far in Australia, and the 10 or so seasons and specials of SAS that have aired in the UK since 2015.

“She still holds the record. We’ve been close to it, though, but she still holds the record,” Middleton said.

The Sydney-based founder of Sweaty Betty publicity famously lasted just six hours on the first season of SAS Australia, quitting the competition on day one – shortly after a tough fight with Candice Warner that ruined their friendship.

But Jacenko insisted the joke was on Middleton, confirming she was the “highest paid”, with rumours she pocketed $200,000.

“Shortest time, highest paid. You tell me who’s smarter!” she told The Daily Telegraph. “And best bit, they are up to season three and they are still talking about it

“I’m either a PR genius or just lucky.”

Jacenko previously hit out at her critics when her brief stint on SAS aired, explaining that she agreed to take part in the show despite being in recovery after a horse riding accident.

“If weak and pathetic is showing up to @sasaust7 because I had committed to it 6 months prior and put 6 days a week training into it no matter what my injuries were well then so be it,” she wrote.

She continued: “I think what it shows was, I had a commitment, I showed up and I tried my very best – which given the circumstances was a hell of a lot given my situation.

“I did what I could but the reality is, my health is my number one priority with two children and a staff of 22 who rely on me – not a show for people’s entertainment and to give them something to troll / gossip about subsequently.”

Jacenko slammed the show in interviews after her exit, saying she was “upset” to be paired with retired professional ironwoman Candice Warner for a one-on-one boxing match.

Jacenko later said she lost a client and a friend after her brief stint on SAS.

Warner, a friend and PR client of Jacenko’s at the time of filming, was shown landing several strong blows while Jacenko barely fought back.

“You wouldn’t continue punching when the person – me – turns their back and continue punching them in the back of the head. In boxing, that’s totally not allowed. The reality is, I can’t punch my then-friend in the face for people’s entertainment,” she said.

Jacenko revealed she cried after their bout, and said Warner had not since reached out to try and repair their friendship: “No, she sacked me instead.”

And it sounds like there’ll be a tested friendships in the new season of SAS Australia, premiering on Seven on Monday night. Middleton confirmed on-air today there’s a “big clash” between contestants Paul Fenech and Locky Gilbert.
