NICOLE Kidman has arrived on the Gold Coast to film her short but sweet role in Aquaman as the film’s Curry Lighthouse set continues to take shape at Hastings Point.

Kidman touched down at Gold Coast Airport on a private jet yesterday at 11.15am after her appearance on the red carpet at the Sydney Opera House on Tuesday night for the premiere of season two of Foxtel’s Top Of The Lake: China Girl.

The actress and her entourage left the airport in two cars — one of which headed straight to Village Roadshow Studios, where Kidman was last night undergoing costume fittings ahead of her debut on set today.

The other car, carrying two children believed to be Kidman and husband Keith Urban’s daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, continued towards the gated estate of Sanctuary Cove.

Due for release in December, 2018, the Warner Bros/DC Entertainment production is being directed by Kidman’s friend James Wan, best known for his work on Insidious, The Conjuring and 2015’s Furious 7.

“I’m excited because of James. It is so great to see an Aussie director take on such huge mega films,” Kidman said in Sydney on Tuesday.

GOLD COAST SCHOOL’S HILARIOUS BID TO LURE AQUAMAN STAR TO FETE

Kidman won’t feature in the Hastings Point shoot — she is only scheduled to spend two days on set (today and tomorrow) on the Coast filming her role as Arthur Curry’s (Aquaman’s) mum, Queen Atlanna.

“The reason why I love (Aquaman) is James Wan is an Australian and I’ve followed his career since he started,” Kidman said.

“He’s a really good friend of mine and he offered to let me play Queen Atlanna. As soon as he said I could wear mother-of-pearl and be a mermaid warrior, I said I’m done. Please. If there is one thing I have to do in my life, I have to be that. Because, you’ve got to have some fun.”

While she’s been cast as Aquaman’s water-breathing mum, Kidman is only 12 years older than the actor playing her on-screen son as an adult — Jason Momoa.

Her character Atlanna is a royal in the underwater kingdom of Atlantis who escapes and falls in love with a lighthouse keeper — Aquaman’s father Thomas Curry, played by New Zealand actor Temuera Morrison.

It’s not the first time Kidman’s appeared in a DC film — she starred as Bruce Wayne’s love interest, Dr Chase Meridian, opposite Val Kilmer in 1995’s Batman Forever.

Three actors will portray Kidman’s on-screen son in Aquaman — Momoa, Sydney actor Otis Dhanji, who makes his feature film debut as a 13-year-old Arthur Curry; and Kaan Guldur, who plays the nine-year-old incarnation of the King of the Seven Seas.

Aquaman also stars Amber Heard, Ludi Lin, Dolph Lundgren, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

Filming is scheduled to wrap on September 29.

The production is shooting at Village Roadshow Studios, on location at Main Beach, Southport and North Stradbroke Island, Hastings Point, in NSW and in Erice, Sicily, Italy, and Newfoundland Island, Canada.
