Canadian rapper Drake took time out of his latest Melbourne concert to make a life-changing announcement to a superfan.

Rapper Drake made a heartwarming gesture for an Aussie fan this week at his concert in Melbourne.

Drake’s Australia shows have made headlines in the past few days, with the hit-maker announcing random cash gifts to unsuspecting fans in the crowd.

The star, who is currently on the losing side of a feud with rapper Kendrick Lamar, was on stage at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Wednesday night when this time he singled superfan Sally Soumaya in the audience.

The expectant mother took to TikTok on Thursday to share a clip of the sweet moment, which saw Drake do a gender reveal for her live on the stage.

“This girl has a sign right here that says: ‘Do my gender reveal’,” Drake told the audience.

“This is life-changing. Oh, what do we think it is?,” he asked before thanking Sally for letting him make the big announcement.

“It says right here that it indicates that the foetus is a mini Drake,” he said, revealing that she would be having a boy.

But that wasn’t the only sweet gesture Drake intended to offer the mum-to-be.

“Sally’s having a boy and Sally’s getting $50,000 (AUD) from me,” he shouted into the microphone.

Sally later told news.com.au that despite being a superstar, she was stunned that Drake was so happy to pause his show just for her.

“Wow, I’m still in disbelief to have this happened to me!” she said.

“He was so humble and sweet and to have shared such a precious moment in my life and have him announce my baby’s gender is a dream come true. I am so grateful for this experience as it’s definitely an unforgettable one!”

“I will never recover from this! Drake does my baby’s gender reveal,” she later wrote on TikTok when sharing the big moment with her followers.

Fans rushed to comment on the sweet clip, with many suggesting the fan should pay tribute to Drake in some way.

“I feel like his middle name gotta be Drake,” commented one, while another added: “Generational fumble if you don’t name him Aubrey,” referencing the star’s real name.

The rapper’s Instagram (@champagnepapi) follower count significantly dropped from 146.7 million in May 2024, when Kendrick dropped his diss single Not Like Us, down to 143.4 million nearly a year later.

The Canadian rapper is losing 345,000 followers per month on average.

As the track continued to gain popularity, Drake’s Instagram had one of its worst months for followers in September 2024, with a net loss of almost 500,000 (486,048). The downward trend continues, with a similar decline of 406,000 in January 2025.

Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Drake Graham, is bringing legal action against the Pulitzer Prize-winning artist.

The lawsuit accuses Universal Music Group and Spotify of an alleged scheme to “artificially inflate” the plays of Lamar’s five-time Grammy-winning diss track, Not Like Us.
