Beyonce has shared a cheeky response to a cease a desist letter she received from the owner of the Las Vegas Sphere.
Last week, the Sphere Entertainment Group fired off a cease and desist to the singer’s team, accusing them of using imagery of the venue “without permission” and claiming it could mislead fans into thinking she was set for a Sphere residency.
Social media immediately poked fun at the bizarre legal matter, and it seems as though Beyonce and her team have also seen the funny side.
The original tour backdrop video shows the superstar marching through Las Vegas in slow motion. She then arrives at the Sphere and bends down to pick it up, taps it and then walks away with it still in her hands.
Beyonce’s team has now edited the footage, and they posted the new version on social media.
The hastily edited clip now sees Beyonce picking up Las Vegas’s Allegiant Stadium instead of the iconic Sphere.
It appears that the cease and desist may have been the result of some bad blood between the CEO of Sphere Entertainment and Queen B after Billboard reported that negotiations to have the singer perform at the venue fell through and she instead chose the Allegiant stadium.
Meanwhile, it comes after reports emerged that Beyonce was failing to shift thousands of tickets on her tour.
The superstar began on her 32-stadium Cowboy Carter tour at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles last week and will be bringing the show across both sides of the Atlantic over the next three months. However, she’s once again missing out on coming to Australia.
Beyonce’s show in Los Angeles had more than 3,800 seats still available with just hours before the show, according to TMZ.
Numerous fans picked up bargain price tickets just minutes before she walked on stage – angering fans who paid up to four figures for seats when they first went on sale.
“Due to its low demand, Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour tickets ($20) are now cheaper than a McDonald’s Minecraft meal ($21.39),” wrote one fan on social media.
