‘Concerned’: Beyonce fails to sell out tour

Just weeks after Katy Perry struggled to sell out her tour in America, fellow pop star Beyonce has been struck with the same concerns.

‘Really tough questions’: Beyonce’s media strategy avoids questions on Diddy

Beyonce failed to shift thousands of tickets on her latest world tour, with fans snapping up tickets for bargain bin prices in a bid to fill stadiums last minute, according to reports.

The superstar began on her 32-stadium Cowboy Carter tour at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Monday night and will be bringing the show across both sides of the Atlantic over the next three months. However, she’s once again missing out on coming to Australia.

Much like Katy Perry’s latest extensive tour, Beyonce’s has failed to become the stadium sellout show that Queen B may have hoped.

Perhaps she should have come Down Under … after all, it’s the only place where Perry has managed to sell out every single show without issue.

Beyonce’s show in Los Angeles had more than 3,800 seats still available with just hours before the show, according to TMZ.

Numerous fans picked up bargain price tickets just minutes before she walked on stage – angering fans who paid up to four figures for seats when they first went on sale.

“Due to its low demand, Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour tickets ($20) are now cheaper than a McDonald’s Minecraft meal ($21.39),” wrote one fan on social media.

Beyonce joined on stage by youngest daughter Rumi

An insider told Daily Mail that resellers who purchased large numbers of tickets only to resell them at high prices are largely to blame for limited attendance.

However, another insider suggested that Beyonce’s team have grown concerned with her former association with Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently awaiting trial for numerous crimes.

“Beyonce isn’t worried about her fans not supporting her, but some close to her are concerned about how casual listeners may have responded to the association with Diddy,” an insider told Daily Mail.

“Beyonce and Jay-Z see him as a thing of the past, so it is irritating to some extent that being associated with him may have affected her ticket sales.”

Back in December, a lawsuit also roped Jay-Z into the controversy surrounding Diddy, accusing him of a horrific crime allegedly committed alongside Diddy in 2000.

Jay-Z denied the accusation, and the case was dismissed with prejudice just two months later.

It’s a surprising series of events for Beyonce, especially after she managed to finally score Album of the Year at the Grammys with Cowboy Carter earlier this year.

Meanwhile, during the first night of her tour Beyonce was joined by her youngest daughter Rumi onstage for the first time ever.
