Jamie Foxx calls police over scam on-set in latest blow to Cameron Diaz’s comeback film

Just days after it was reported Jamie Foxx fired multiple staff in an on-set meltdown, more drama has plagued his latest film with Cameron Diaz.

Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx’s new film has reportedly been plagued by chaos.

Cameron Diaz’s troubled big budget comeback film has stalled over an alleged plot to steal $60,000 from co-star Jamie Foxx in an elaborate scam.

Production of Back In Action was halted for an investigation which led to one staffer being sacked, reports The Sun.

It was the latest in a series of hold-ups and hitches and came shortly after Oscar-winner Foxx, 55, fired several other senior producers on the spot in a furious rage on-set.

Bosses on the Netflix film are also thought to have contacted police over the incident after learning the same staffer may have been linked to similar attempts to extract large sums of cash from wealthy stars in the past.

A source said: “This film has been a bit of a nightmare.

“There have been a lot of delays, especially with the weather thanks to filming outdoors in London in winter, but the latest issue is a bit more sinister.

“One staffer has been sacked, and there are investigations after someone tried to get access to £33,000 (A$60,000) in cash from Jamie Foxx.

“It sounds as though they tried to offer up a Rolex watch as part of the deal but now there’s an investigation into everything going on. People will be glad when this thing finally wraps.”

Foxx announced his close friend Diaz’s “un-retirement” to appear in Back In Action after convincing her to end a nine-year acting hiatus.

But a recent report in The Sun revealed how the film had been plagued by problems, leaving Diaz, 50, planning to quit acting again.

Problems, delays and rows have dogged the production, with reports saying: “She hates drama and confrontation. This is why she retired in the first place.”

Diaz made 40 films before deciding to focus on family life with husband Benji Madden and their three-year-old daughter.

Netflix declined to comment.
