Film set chaos as Jamie Foxx allegedly sacks staff in meltdown
Cameron Diaz’s first movie in nearly a decade is in chaos amid reports her Oscar-winning co-star Jamie Foxx fired multiple staffers in a rage.
Cameron Diaz’s first movie in nine years is in chaos thanks to a meltdown by co-star Jamie Foxx.
Insiders say Oscar-winner Foxx, 55, was furious over production issues, which led to four people being sacked, reports The Sun.
Back In Action, which is being filmed in London, is the first movie that Diaz, 50, is working on since Annie in 2014.
But the star’s return is reportedly not going smoothly due to Foxx.
“There have been some issues on set and Jamie has had a major meltdown over it all,” a source said.
“He demanded the problems be sorted immediately and sacked four of the production staff – as if that would magically improve the situation.”
Those axed are an executive producer, an assistant director and a unit director, as well as Foxx’s driver.
The source added: “Some people working on it are totally fed up with how this has played out and Jamie has become pretty unpopular.”
Foxx, who won the Best Actor Oscar in 2005 for Ray, and Diaz have been filming since December, with a major explosion stunt being shot on the Thames in London.
It is their third time working together after Annie and Any Given Sunday in 1999.
Diaz had said she was retiring in 2018 to focus on family life with husband, Benji Madden, 44. They had a daughter via surrogate in 2019.
Foxx announced he had managed to bring Diaz on board for the film last June.
In a phone chat, that was released online, she said: “Jamie Foxx, only you could get me back in action. I can’t frickin’ wait. It’s gonna be a blast!”
