The radio star, 49, appeared to be in shock when a colleague broke the news that the British pop star, 31, had been found dead.

Payne died after falling from his hotel balcony in Argentina.

Sharing her thoughts on the heartbreaking news, Henderson had a theory about what might have happened in Payne’s final moments alive.

“If he fell, it would probably be by accident,” she said on Thursday’s show.

“I don’t know if it would be the way he would do something like that if he wanted to intentionally do it, from the third floor.”

“People could survive [a fall from third floor] and have done so. That’s why I wonder if it is an accident, it is a huge shock.”

Jackie went on to say that she found the whole thing “upsetting”.

“It is so upsetting to hear the news and I first heard it live on air, it is absolutely shocking. It is sad he died in really unfortunate circumstances.”

She added: “A lot of love goes out to Liam and his friends and family.”

The world is in a state of shock after the British singer, 31, who spoke openly in the past about his struggles, is understood to have fallen from the third floor of a hotel around 5pm, local time.

His body was found in the courtyard of the Casa Sur Hotel in the Palermo neighbourhood, surrounded by tables and chairs.

Payne spent the final years of his life in crisis, a source who knew the former One Direction member told Page Six.

“Liam had been cycling through periods of ruinous behaviour for a long time,” our insider shares.

“He was open about his struggles but tried to downplay them at times. His demons were much worse than he let on.”

In recent months, Payne had become under intense scrutiny on social media.

The negative social media attention then continued to swirl after his ex, Maya Henry, opened up about her tumultuous relationship with the 31-year-old who she dated from 2018 to 2022.

Henry, 24, claimed Payne would constantly tell her he was going to die to “manipulate her” following their split.

“He would always message me ever since we broke up, (saying) ‘Oh, I’m not well,’” Henry alleged on The Internet Is Dead podcast.

“He would always play with death and be like, ‘Well, I’m going to die. I’m not doing well.’”
