TWELVE-year-old Izellah Rahmania Connelly is well on her way to international pop stardom.

The St Hildas student and Southport local composed her first song when she was just two and a half years old and has now released her new single Where Nobody Knows Me which was recorded in a studio on Melrose Ave, Los Angeles.

This new song follows a string of previous releases including her first song Unbeatable which was also recorded in LA and performed live on the ABC ME program.

She has also collaborated with songwriters who have also worked with the likes of Eminem, Kylie Minogue and Celine Dion during which she describes the “exhausting” writing process.

“We started with a blank sheet of paper at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon and ended up with a recorded song at 9pm,” she said.

“But it was a lot of fun, with everybody dancing and jumping about when the song was finished.”

Her natural musical talent, she says, is from her mothers side of the family with Indonesian roots.

“My dad can’t even sing in the shower, but my mum’s dad came from Ambon, a part of Indonesia where many of that country’s most famous singers come from,” she said.

“They’re known for their deep rich voices. And my mum was in radio because she has a good speaking voice.
