FANS of the Bertie Beetle showbags can rejoice with sellers doubling their stock to 5,000 after selling out on the first night at last years Show.

And other crowd favourites will be there in the thousands, with a warehouse full of showbags in Molendinar, bursting at the seams ahead of next weekend’s show.

Owner of Showtime Showbags Mitchell Peers says this year’s show will see the return of all the favourites as well as a brand new selection.

“We’ve got 28 completely new show bags, but then we’ve also got a lot of old ones that have been updated with different content,” Mr Peer said.

“We haven’t really done a big range of NRL before but this year for father’s day they’ve got nearly all the teams, and then there’s Sleep Squad for the girls which will be big.

“Then there’s also the new Harry Potter and Friends show bags.”

“We have 5000 of the Bertie Beetle’s this year, we ran out on the first night last year because we only had about 2,500, who was to know?”

Despite the popularity of Bertie Beetles, Mr Peers believes the new Harry Potter show bags will be the one to steal this year’s show.

“Harry Potter is going to be the biggest this year,” he said.

“It sold out at the Ekka, they had to keep bringing stock up from Melbourne.”

Tamika Hine, 12, has spent the last few months working hard completing a list of chores in the hopes of saving up enough pocket money to purchase a variety of show bags.

“We have to do chores around the house, depending on the job I usually have an average of about $12 a week and I save that money up to be able to go to the show,” Miss Hine said.

“I really want to get three show bags this year.”

The price of confectionary show bags ranges from $6 to $15, with the bigger bags reaching $23 to $32.
