Eurovision contenders prepare to show-off in front of thousands live to air from the Gold Coast

Australia is set to decide just who will become the nation’s representative as one particular Gold Coast suburb morphs into Eurovision central.

BROADBEACH’S Star Gold Coast’s island site and convention centre across the road are ready to become Eurovision central.

The Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre tomorrow night hosts Euro-vision — Australia Decides to decide which music act takes on the world in the global final in Israel.

Star Gold Coast has a deal with SBS’s production partner Blink TV to host all artists including a VIP private party at its rooftop Nineteen at the Star bar.

Among 10 acts to battle it out live on TV are Brisbane’s Sheppard, Kate Miller-Heidke and electro-soul duo Electric Fields.

Comic Joel Creasey and radio host Myf Warhurst will MC. Australian singer Dami Im, second in Eurovision 2016 in Sweden with hit Sound of Silence, is performing at half time.

Blink TV director Paul Clarke said the deal with Star “creates a real Eurovision buzz being right next door to the venue”.
