‘Pressure’: Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster’s new romance facing ‘tough’ times

Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster’s honeymoon period is well and truly over, according to an insider who has revealed the latest on the pair.

Hugh Jackman’s new romance with Sutton Foster is proving difficult to maintain, a source close to the pair has claimed.

Jackman and ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness announced their separation after 27 years of marriage in September 2023.

The Hollywood star and Foster then finally confirmed their relationship after being pictured holding hands and kissing in January.

Now, however, a source close to Broadway star Foster has claimed the honeymoon period is over for the high profile couple.

Between difficult scheduling conflicts because of Jackman’s career and intense media speculation about the origins of their romance, things have reportedly become difficult to juggle.

The source claimed that the couple had only “limited” communication while Jackman was abroad filming a movie and he even missed Foster’s milestone 50th birthday.

“Being apart for an extended period of time can be tough on any couple,” an insider exclusively told Life & Style magazine.

“It’s always hard dating in the public eye, but when you add their whole backstory and what they’ve put on the line as far as their reputations, the pressure rises exponentially.”

The source went on to add that the couple are adamant that whispers of a cheating scandal in regards to how they got together are absolute nonsense, despite the persistent rumours.

“There’s no denying Hugh and Sutton’s romance happened very quickly,” the insider added.

“There’s a lot of harsh judgment about them online,” noting that “now, there’s a sense they have something to prove.”

While the pair were starring together in Meredith Wilson’s musical on Broadway from December 2021 until January 2023, they struck up a close bond.

A source told Daily Mail back in March that they became so close that they would take their then-respective partners on double dates together.

The source also claimed that after every performance of their show together the pair would share an “uncomfortably” long embrace in front of everyone.

“It was odd,” they continued. “In a way it was uncomfortable. As the entire cast is trying to get to their dressing rooms upstairs, we all had to pass the two of them hugging. They didn’t even hide it! It was a long embrace … and it was weird.”

Sutton, for her part, filed for divorce from her Ocean’s Eleven screenwriter husband Ted Griffin, 53, after 10 years of marriage in October last year.

The actress and Griffin were married in Santa Barbara in 2014 and adopted their daughter, Emily, in 2017.
